With its ocean breezes and hot climates, South Africa offers some excellent wines. It grows many different grape varieties with the most prolific being Chenin Blanc. In addition, it grows reasonable amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Colombard and Shiraz. Most of the wine is grown in the Western Cape, with some notable regions such as Walker Bay, Constantia, Stellenbosch, Paarl and Elgin.
