Assemblage is an impressive ‘Bordeaux Blend’ comprising mostly Cabernet Franc along with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and a little Malbec. The resulting wine is beautiful, there’s no doubt about that. It’s very approachable now but equally can age. On the nose, you get typical Cabernet Franc aromas such as black fruits, black currants and that stalky characteristic. On the palate, the wine is more full bodied, rounder with a higher fruit concentration than you’d expect from the nose. There’s a little spice and stewed fruit as well as the black fruits. It has a long finish and is well balanced. Overall, this is a stunning wine from Argentina.
