When drinking this Montes Alpha Carmenère, you are met immediately with a nose of ripe red and black fruits, accompanied by jam and some savoury notes. Toasted oak is met with sweet spices and violet. The wine then delivers smooth and gentle tannins on the palate with just a touch of vanilla and coffee. In summary, this is a brilliant example of a Chilean Carmenère; it is well structured and complex. Without a doubt, this is one of our favourite wines.
56% of the Carmenère is aged for 12 months in first-use French oak barrels. The wine is then filtered through cartridge filters prior to bottling.
