About the wine
A full bodied wine that packs a punch. Black cherries, black plums, with hints of spice, eucalyptus and black pepper. This Nero d’Avola is a delightful find from the heart of Sicily. The best organic grapes went into this wine, all from vines which produce low yields, meaning extra flavour. The wine has been matured in French and American oak for between 6 and 9 months. It also underwent malolactic fermentation. The malolactic fermentation process gives the wine more complex creamy flavours, such as vegan cheese and butter!
Some say Nero d’Avola is Sicily’s answer to Malbec, so if you like a Malbec, then this is definitely worth trying.
About the winemaker
Vigneti Zabù is a young estate in South Western Sicily. Located in a valley near Lake Arancio, the lake creates a small microclimate, which protects the vines from the blistering Sicilian sun.
