Carricante is a native grape to Sicily, more specifically it is indigenous to the Etna region. On the nose, you get green apples and a little citrus. On the palate, you get more green apples, a little hint of warm baking spice and good minerality. The wine has fresh acidity but because it was in contact with the lees for five months, it is well balanced and has a round mouthfeel. Overall, we think this is a lovely grape and are really pleased to have found it.
