This Boschendal Sparkling wine is a fine example of a Methode Cape Classique from South Africa. Made in the same way as champagne using the same grapes, it makes an excellent alternative that we personally prefer! In appearance, it’s pale gold with delicate bubbles which makes it very appealing to look at. It has some complex bready, yeasty notes on tasting from the fermentation but is fruitier than champagne. When drinking, you get layers of fresh citrus flavours that work really well with the savoury notes. The wine is matured on the lees to provide a well-rounded, creamy mouth-feel with mouthwatering minerality, good balance and a seamless finish.

This was really delicious and I am not really a fan of champagne! This one is really crisp and clean. Very special!
